Say it

In conjunction with this year's Racial Harmony celebrations, we interviewed people of different races and ages on what Racial Harmony means to them.
Here's what they have to say:

"Racial Harmony is what keeps Singapore going, we must never take this for granted but continue to embrace diversity and live harmoniously together."
Candice Kang (left) 21 and Grace-Sasha Ng 24, Undergraduates
"Racial Harmony is bringing peace to our country."
Lijo Johan Olickal (Right) 30, Occupational Therapist
"Racial Harmony is something very significant especially in Singapore as we are multi-racial and it is the key factor that determines the country's progress."
Rekha 20, JC student
"To live harmoniously, we need to understand one another with no suspicion of one another."
Mustaffa Kasim 65, Retiree
"Racial Harmony Day commemorates the 1964 racial riots and reminds us of the multi-cultured society that we live in. The day emphasizes how racial harmony is integral to the social fabric of cosmopolitan Singapore. 'Racial Harmony' draws up a picture of stability and peace for me."
Tan Mei Yi 20, Undergraduate
‘"Racial Harmony is where the four races come together without any conflicts and understand one another’s religion and culture so that we are able to enjoy the peace in the country."
Nur Diyanah Bte Abdul Shukar 18, Student
"Respecting each other’s religion and being sensitive to all races."
Alex Hoe 43, IT Project Manager
"Racial Harmony to me is like when I am doing my Annual In-Camp Training (ICt). Where groups of guys from every race, creed or religion, congregate on the same spot, working together, eating together and in war games, fighting together, Instead of fighting against each other because of any basic differences between people."
Patrick Liew 38, Accounts Assistant
