Over 500 children and their families packed the Paya Lebar Kovan Community Club football field on 18 November 2007 for the People’s Association (PA) Children’s Football League Carnival. The PA Children’s Football League Programme was piloted in 2004 at seven constituencies and is now being offered at 25 constituencies, a significant increase in our outreach to the community through sports. A total of 1,300 families have benefited from the programme since its inception.
The carnival kicked off with children from different age group (aged 5 & 6, aged 7 to 9 and aged 10 to 12) showcase their skills and playing friendly football matches while their parents served as referees and match officials.
The children also enjoyed themselves in the mini-jersey design competition and the parents participated in the human foosball friendly game.
