More than 1,000 seniors and their family members from all over Singapore can look forward to a 10-hour Dance Marathon 2009. The event aims to encourage the senior residents to stay physically and socially active. The highlight of the event is a specially choreographed dance called “Wellness Dance” to be performed by the GOH, Mr Lim Boon Heng, Minister, Prime Minister’s Office, Deputy Chairman of People’s Association (PA) and Adviser to Jurong Grassroots Organisations, and grassroots leaders.  

The new “Wellness Dance” is choreographed by Mr Low Boon Hua, who teaches folk and line dance at several Community Clubs and Residents’ Committee centres.

Besides the dance marathon, residents will also pen their New Year wishes on wishing spheres. The wishing spheres will be released into the Marina Bay as part of the Singapore’s year-end countdown celebration on 31 December 2009.
