Baby Singapore Finals 2011

Over 3,200 babies and their families strut their stuff for a chance to be the Champions of the ‘Happiest Parent & Baby’ and ‘Most Photogenic Family’ categories in the Baby Singapore 2011. Held on 25 and 26 June at Marina Square, the Baby Singapore 2011 finals saw winners across 24 CCs competing for the National Championship titles for their babies and families.

Organised by PA’s Family Life Champions (FLCs) in partnership with the Women’s Integration Network, this year’s Baby Singapore 2011 was introduced across the constituencies and attracted many eager parents, some of whom are joining for the second or third time.

PAYM Youths

The People’s Association Youth Movement (PAYM) turned 40 years old this year. To celebrate and recognise the contributions of youths throughout the four decades, PAYM had prepared a range of exciting activities for youths throughout the year.

If you have not attended any PAYM activities so far, you can look forward to upcoming events such as spooky Halloween parties, insightful heritage trails, head-banging gigs and much more. PAYM will also continue to provide a platform for youths to engage in meaningful community service projects.

Youths at the forefront of Nurture Programme

CSCDC Nurture Programme

In a pleasant turn of events, the Nurture programme conducted by our Central Singapore Community Development Council (CS CDC) welcomed 18 new mentors. These fresh faces were not adults, but 14 year-old volunteers from Raffles Girls School (RGS) with a heart to serve.

The Nurture programme was first launched in 2007 and has since helped more than 600 children from low-income families. The children, aged four to 12 are exposed to enrichment activities that help improve their command of the English language, enhance reading skills and build self-confidence. Parents can enrol their children in any of the 17 Nurture Centres for programmes at an affordable cost.
