PM opens new PA headquarters

Cold pyrotechnicsThe new People’s Association (PA) headquarters (HQ) located at 9 King George’s Avenue was officially opened on Friday, 29 Jan, by the Chairman of PA, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.

The opening ceremony also marked the first of a series of events that would take place throughout 2010 to commemorate PA’s 50th Anniversary.

About 1,000 guests including grassroots Advisers, grassroots leaders, and community partners attended the event. They were entertained by the Thomson Jazz Band and caught a sneak preview of some Chingay Parade floats and a very special musical - Fried Rice Paradise, that would be staged in August 2010.

Stamp to mark PA's 50th Anniversary

Anniversary StampsTo commemorate the 50th anniversary of the People’s Association, a first day cover and stamp will be released on 26 January 2010.  The stamp, alongside those of the Housing and Development Board, Singapore Scout Association and the Singapore Customs, is part of the Singapore Post’s Anniversary Series.

100 Icons

100 Icons is a presentation of logos, symbols, trademarks and icons that are significant to Singapore's social history and visual culture. The exhibition, by the Design Society, traces the origins and stories behind some of our most iconic and memorable trademarks.

As an organisation that has grown alongside Singapore, the PA is proud to be featured in this exhibition. Visitors will be able to discover the origins and design evolution of familiar emblems through static and interactive displays.
