People’s Association raised $551,800 for President’s Challenge 2010

On 24 August 2010, a cheque amounting to $551,800 was presented to President S R Nathan by Minister Lim Boon Heng, Deputy Chairman of People’s Association (PA) and Mr Yam Ah Mee, Chief Executive Director of PA as part of PA's efforts in supporting President's Challenge 2010.

The People’s Association (PA), through its grassroots organisations (GROs) and Community Development Councils (CDCs), has been supporting the President’s Challenge since its inception in 2000. PA initially pledged an amount of $250,000 and doubled the target by raising a total of of $551,800 with support from the PA Youth Movement, Community Development Councils and Grassroots Organisations, as well as from the generous contributions of 12 individual major donors who bought the PA 50th Anniversary Commemorative Book ‘We are One.’
