Splashing good time at Chingay 2012

Chingay Parade 2012 Head down to the F1 Pit Building on the 3 and 4 February and join us in Chingay 2012 – A Waterway Parade of Love and Care.

With the theme of “Love, Care, Kindness Everywhere” be prepared to be enchanted by our 8,000 volunteer performers who will be making a splash in a 360-metre waterway. This is the first time that a waterway will be used at the Chingay Parade and it not only marks the Parade’s 40th anniversary but also symbolises the year of the Water Dragon.

Look forward to bedazzling dragon performances such as a 88-metre Flying Dragon, a LED Hip Hop Dragon Dance and a Community Ribbon Dragon of Love which is personally hand-made by residents from different estates.

The audience can also soak in the festive atmosphere through the largest ever ‘Dikir Barat’ performance consisting of 600 participants and be wowed by the various dance performances ranging from Samba to line dance to tai chi fan dance by 1,000 interest group members from the various CCs.

“Love, Care and Kindness Everywhere” is not just confined to the Singapore community as spectacular performances by friends from China, Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia and Egypt will add colour and vibrancy to this year’s Parade.

Don’t miss the heartwarming finale involving 3,000 performers and three majestic sailboats depicting the challenges faced by mankind and how mankind triumphs over challenges with love and care.
