Interest Groups
Have an interest, and want to meet like-minded people? Then, join Interest Groups (IGs) at the Community Clubs (CCs) or Residents’ Committees (RCs). There are IGs covering Sports & Fitness, Arts and Lifestyle, Education and Lifeskills and Performing Arts. IGs allow for quality interaction and bonding among residents as they attract residents of all races, gender and age.
Starting IGs
Can’t find an existing IG to join? Rope in five members to start an IG, appoint a leader and give it a unique name. Visit www.one.pa.gov.sg for more information.
Types of IGs
People’s Association wants to reach out to people of all interests and we have IGs to cater to every taste:
Arts & Lifestyle
Hobby and general leisure activity groups, such as painting, photography, singing, pet grooming, antique appreciation, arts and craft clubs and movie clubs.
Performing Arts
Bringing together people with a passion for the arts and culture. Involvement with these groups generally includes some training, such as ballet, opera, American line dance, ballroom dance, belly dance, choir and guitar groups.
Sports & Fitness
Sports lovers and fitness enthusiasts can get together with like-minded people interested in netball, karate, tennis, briskwalking, or qigong etc.
Education & Lifeskills
Educational and Lifeskills groups are an opportunity to hone academic or work skills, such as arithmetic, tuition, writing, IT and abacus, to name a few.
Community Groups
These groups comprise members who share a common profile or a common cause. Social and community service are the key agents that bind together members of these groups.
