PA Senior Talent Star Search 2007 ‘2 to Dance’



Senior Talent Star Search 2007 *–‘2 to Dance’* was organised on Saturday, 17 November 2007, 4.00 pm to 11.00 pm at Jurong East Sports & Recreation Centre to launch the PA’s celebrations of the inaugural Active Ageing Festival. About 100 amateur ballroom dance couples took part in 15 Latin (Cha Cha, Rumba, Samba & Jive), Standard (Waltz, Tango & Quickstep) and Social Dance (Cha Cha, Rock ‘n Roll & Disco Rock) competition categories and Intergenerational Social Dance Contest. Foreign dance enthusiasts from selected dance schools in the region (Taipei, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok and Indonesia) participated in the open categories of the competition; namely Latin and Standard - 3 Dance items, to drive the standard of the competitions to a new level. A special category - Inter-generational (IG) Social Dance Contest was included in the event where a senior partners a junior for the contest so as to create opportunity for the young to bond with the old.
