The National Day Floor Parties & Block Parties Extravaganza @ Canberra, a series of community celebrations organised for residents by residents, was held on 9 August 2012 at various hotspots in Canberra Constituency. This was just one of the many community celebrations and get-togethers organised by Canberra GROs and residents. The Canberra GROs started organising Floor Parties to bond the residents in 2007. The trend quickly caught on among residents and soon, residents were organising their own floor parties to get to know their fellow neighbours better. To date, Canberra GROs, together with residents, have organised more than 215 Floor Parties, reaching out to 1160 households and spreading the 'Canberra Kampung Spirit' to more than 5800 residents.
