International Women’s Day (IWD) 2026
The PA WECs celebrate IWD every year with a different theme to recognise the contributions of women to society and show care for women in the community
This year, the theme is ‘Connecting Women, Connecting Impact’. We’re creating ways for women to show up for our community, from building resilience in youth, caring for animals, championing the environment and sustainability, empowering women to supporting caregivers.
If you are passionate about any of the five cause-based initiatives and want to take action to make a difference in the community, please click on this FormSG link to register your interest.
The Women’s Executive Committees (WECs)
The Women’s Executive Committees (WECs) organise a wide range of programmes to meet the needs of women from different backgrounds ranging from health matters related to women and family, managing work-life harmony to programmes on parenting, financial literacy and employability. They also help to form interest groups for residents to interact with one another and make more friends, as well as recruit more volunteers to serve the community. There are WECs located at each of the Community Clubs islandwide.
The WECs are guided by the Women's Integration Network (WIN) Council. The Council’s key initiatives include programmes to enable working women and mothers with knowledge and information to better manage work and family life, take charge of their health and their families, as well as to provide a platform for sharing of concerns and forge networks women can turn to for mutual support.
People’s Association ‘Better Me, Better Us’ Programme
The People's Association's "Better Me, Better Us" Programme equips women with knowledge and experiences, helping them navigate health, family, work-life balance, and financial planning.
