Chingay 2016 Moves Into The Heartlands

The Chingay Parade 2016 and Chingay Night Fiesta lit up Singapore over the weekend from 19– 21 February. Themed “Lights of Legacy, Brighter Singapore”, Chingay 2016 represented our first steps towards SG100 after our milestone SG50 celebrations where Singaporeans from diverse backgrounds come together to celebrate core values important to Singapore.

Chingay 2016 far from over! Don’t fret if you missed the Parades or Night Fiesta as Chingay will be moving into the heartlands next! Get up close and personal with some of the Chingay floats and performers at the Chingay heartland parades near your home. More information on the Chingay @ Heartlands can be found here.

Thank You for being with us at Chingay 2016!

The Chingay Parades (19 and 20 Feb) and Chingay Night Fiesta (21 Feb) would not have been such a success without the support of the various performers, participants, volunteers, international friends and of course those of you who were in the audience for the parades or at Bishan – Ang Mo Kio Park for the Night Fiesta. Amidst the rain, vibrant floats, dancing dragons, prancing lions and stilt walkers, people from all walks of life came together to celebrate the values embodied by our Pioneers such as Racial Harmony and Social Cohesion, Caring Community, Resilience as a Nation and a Can-Do Singapore Spirit. Many of you also stayed back after the parades and night fiesta to pick up the litter around you to ensure that the area would be clean and tidy for the community.

We hope to see you at Chingay @ Heartlands too!
