Have you ever seen a giant ice kachang before? Or a larger-than-life bed right in the heart of your neighbourhood?

Well if you haven’t, then you can’t miss out on this year’s PAssionArts Festival 2018 taking place from Saturday, 30 June 2018 to Saturday, 25 August 2018 – at over 50 Festival Arts Villages!

This year’s Festival is aimed at encouraging young families with children and youths to bond through art, and features over 500 arts activities and programmes including visual art displays and performing arts put together by residents and local artists island wide. Key highlights include the national-level Animal Plank Art initiative co-created by 15,000 residents and young families. From end June to September, more than 1,000 pieces of animal-shaped plank art (featuring Lions, Giraffes, and Otters) will be displayed at over 30 locations across Singapore, including your neighbourhood parks, ponds to even a shopping mall!

Bedtime stories take the centre stage over at Bishan-Toa Payoh with the recreation of a mega outdoor interactive installation of a child’s bedroom (think 7-metres by 5-metres larger-than-life bed!). Expect more family-centric programmes and activities reflecting the history and character of our local estates such as the recreation of a gigantic “crocodile art playground” in Aljunied which pays homage to the long-lost Crocodile Farm of yesteryears, as well as the famous bird-sighting location at Kebun Baru. Relive your childhood over at the Pasir Ris Beach Arts Festival on 27 and 28 July 2018, where the beach transforms into a fantasy “Neverland” of colours, dreams, fun art installations and live music for young families and the young-at-heart. Over at Tampines, urban meets tradition at the Payong Batik 1000 project where 1,000 batik umbrellas will be created as a contemporary mid-air canopy air installation!

In celebration of the community’s inclusivity, more than 22 volunteer welfare organisations and local artists will also come together to create heart-warming artworks in homes, care centres and halfway houses, bringing arts to truly everyone.

With so much to see and do, what are you waiting for? Check out our PAssionArts Festival 2018 Guide and start marking your calendars today!
