Opening of PA Heritage Gallery
12 Feb 2010

The Chairman of the People’s Association (PA), Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, launched the PA Heritage Gallery at the official opening of the new PA headquarters (HQ) on 29 January 2010. He also penned his wishes for the PA during the launch.
Located at the atrium of our new building, the Heritage Gallery showcases PA’s contributions to nation-building and growth over the years, alongside Singapore’s development.
Guests who were invited to preview the Gallery were impressed by the exhibition.
“It’s simply beautiful,” said Mdm Noelene De Foe, BBM, Chairman of Teck Ghee Community Club Management Committee and Vice-Chairman of Teck Ghee Citizens’ Consultative Committee.
“Many of the younger people may not have seen the older CCs (community centres), what they were like and how far PA has come over these 50 years.”
Agreeing, Mr Muhammad Nabil, member of Fengshan Youth Executive Committee and Kaki Bukit Malay Activity Executive Committee, said, “As a young person, I feel that there’s much to be learnt.”
A visit to the Heritage Gallery is part of the induction programme for PA staff and grassroots leaders, to remind them of how their work supports PA’s mission of building and bridging communities in achieving one people and one Singapore.
Visitors to PA HQ are also welcome to tour the Gallery, which will be a permanent fixture at the building’s atrium.
